The Central Polk Parkway continues to be in the long term planning stages but progress is being made. Poinciana would be served by the Eastern Portion of the Parkway. Sections E4 and E3 have been defined as the rightmost of the two options shown on the above map.
The locations of the proposed intersections remains an issue. The option being proposed includes Poinciana accessable intersections at the CR 580 and at Lake Hatch CR542. A second option being advocated by the cities of Haines City and Winter Haven would replace the proposed CR542 Lake Hatch intersection with an intersection farther north at CR544 which would be more accessable to Haines City residents but not nearly as accessable to Poinciana residents living in villages 7 and 8.
In October 2010 Public Workshops were held to present the status of the study and receive public input.
