PARKS,PARKS,PARKS AND MORE PARKS
With the recent Polk County Comission Directive to place a 28 Acre Sports Park we are now looking at three new Polk parks and a significant upgrade to an existing Osceola park planned for Poinciana.
Located on the SouthEast shore of Lake Marion, this site has been acquired by Polk County and will be made available to the public hopefully 3rd or 4Q 2010
This 28 acre parcel of land in Poinciana Village 7 neighborhood 6, at the corner of Poinciana Parkway and State Road 542 is being purchased by Polk County and made into a youth sports park similar to the Deerwood Osceola county park which has been very popular on the Osceola side of Poinciana.
The APV has installed new children's equipment structures for Vance Harmon Park. One is a multi-purpose climbing structure and the other a smaller spring style play toys to compliment the swing sets. The equipment will be placed at the Cypress Drive side of Vance Harmon Park; playground swing style toys (3-5 years old) by the swings and in the playground on the corner of Country Club, the larger multi-purpose climbing aparatus (6 to 12 years old). Arrival and placement of this playground equipment will take place within the month of Sept. The APV wants to thank everyone for their patience while the old deteriorated park equipment is replaced.
Polk County has committed to fund $4.3 million dollars to develop this park which is being planned to include fields for baseball, softball, football, soccer, basketball, play ground, walking trails and concession facilities.
This very scenic, beautiful property located on the shores of Lake Marion in village 7 neighborhood 3 south will provide a lovely picnic and boat launch location for resident's use.
