Avatar’s Tony Iorio speaks about Poinciana Parkway plans at Poinciana Area Council (PAC) meeting. Iorio states that there were over 3,000 Poinciana homes constructed in 2005. Poinciana is among the top planned communities in the nation with this growth. Poinciana population identified at 57,000 people.

Avatar – which needs the parkway in place to continue developing its Solivita active-adult community – is fronting the anticipated $60 million cost of the road, which has been in the planning stages since the early 1990’s.

Polk and Osceola County Commissions approve agreements with Avatar allowing the developer to use condemnation powers to acquire rights of way for the project. The agreements call for Avatar to open the road by Oct 31,2008.
